לכן כה אמר אדני יהוה הנני יסד בציון אבן אבן בחן פנת יקרת מוסד מוסד המאמין לא יחיש

Therefore thus says the Lord God : See,I am laying a stone in Zion, a stone that has been tested, a precious corner stone as a sure foundation;he who puts his faith in it shall not be shaken.   Isaiah28:16

Local Living Stone Church--- Cyprus Nicosia

We are inviting you to attend in our service every Sunday 10am....

 Cell groups  (Prayer & Intercessors)

Want to grow in your relationship with God with the support and friendship of others?

Then joining a Living Stone Fellowship  cell group is the perfect opportunity for you to get involved, joined into the Living Stone Church Family and go deeper with God.

Cells are small groups of people in the Church Family that meet together in homes weekly.

The Bible teaches us that first century followers of Yeshua attended two different types of meetings each week. They met as a large group in Solomon's temple courts, and they also met as smaller gatherings in homes. At Living Stone Ministries we do the same. The cells listed below are open to new attendees. We also have other groups that are now closed and are getting ready to plant new groups. Contact the group leader to confirm time, location and other group details. If you live in an area where there are no groups, why not start a new group. We'll help you in the process!

CYPRUS  HISTORY

http://www.nicosia.org.cy

Cyprus is 3rd biggest island in the Mediterranean Sea, stretching 240 kms east to west and cover up an area of 9300 sq kms. Cyprus has a population of about 700,000. It is an island of contrasts, from sandy beaches, vine clad slopes to cedar-covered hilltops. The weather is sub tropical and uasually the temperatures in the summer can reach over 40 degrees, whilst it’s even likely to ski in the Mountains of Troodos in winter. Cyprus, an island of myths that basks year-round in the light of the hot Mediterranean sun

A storied past 10,000 years long has seen civilizations come and go and the likes of everyone from Alexander the Great to Cleopatra stake their claim here - but then, people do tend to get possessive when faced with such prettiness. Aphrodite made her habitat on Cyprus and travelers throughout antiquity came here just to pay her tribute.

Today Cyprus is a new country that effortlessly marries European civilization with ancient enchantment. Here you will discover a compact world of alluring beaches and fragrant mountain peaks, vineyards studded with olive trees and ancient ruins that stir the imagination, citrus groves and old stone villages where sweet wine flows as freely as conversations at the local cafe. A relaxed place where a sense of timelessness is magnified by the gentleness of the citizens.

Cyprus is an island of outstanding natural beauty in a region with an abundance of ancient and modern civilisations and cultures. Its mineral wealth was well known in ancient times: the island gave its name to the element copper (Cu). Away from the cosmopolitan towns and beach resorts you will find large areas of natural, un-spoilt countryside. Rugged, conifer-clad mountains, woodland and gentle orchards and vineyards are interspersed with tranquil, timeless villages. The people extend a warm and friendly welcome and their hospitality will add greatly to your enjoyment. Winter in Cyprus is generally mild, especially the western part.
Southern Cyprus, the most unique part of the island that appeals to all. Many people are most tempted by the climate, the relaxed lifestyle, and the warm, friendly people. Others like the low cost of living, much lower than the UK! Still more go for the architecture, which is steeped in history, or for the culture or the food... and don't forget, Cyprus is the birth place of Aphrodite, the Goddess of love!

Cyprus suits Brits!

Many British people feel 'at home' in Cyprus. Indeed, it was a British colony until 1960 and some remnants of that relationship remain. The main language is Greek but English is widely spoken. Cars drive on the left, and road signs are in both Greek and English. Both banking and legal systems are based on the British model, and the tap water is completely safe to drink!

Sporting opportunities

If you want more than just lazing in the sun, there is an abundance of activities to enjoy, including: fishing, sailing, scuba diving, golf, nature trails and in the winter, skiing in the Troodos Mountains.

Investment opportunity

Property prices in Cyprus have increased dramatically over the past few years. Of course, past performance is no guide to future prices, but all the indications are that now is the perfect time to buy! particularly as Cyprus is expected to adopt the Euro currency and property prices have risen dramatically in other countries that have entered the Euro.

  • At 9,250 sq. km., Cyprus is the third largest island in the Mediterranean
  • The Mediterranean climate means hot, dry summers and cool winters
  • There are an average of 340 days of sunshine every year
  • Mount Olympus is the highest point, at 1,951m
  • The island is easy to reach, with direct flights from most major UK airports
  • Cyprus has been a member of the European Union since 2004
  • The population numbers around 800,000
  • In 1974, the island was divided into the Turkish Cypriot North and Greek Cypriot South
  • The name Cyprus originates from the Greek word for 'copper'
  • It is rumoured that the Lost City of Atlantis may be submerged somewhere off the East Coast
  • Cyprus now adopt the Euro from January 2008
